A Journey Through Time

Since its inception in 1995, IHP has evolved from a small initiative into a dynamic force for change. Over the years, we have overcome challenges, embraced opportunities, and continuously adapted to an ever-changing landscape. IHP’s story is one of perseverance, innovation, and the collective efforts of passionate individuals who shaped our success. Though the many changes of faces, leadership, members, and initiatives, the one thing that remains constant is IHP’s mission, which seeks to assure accessible, cost-effective, high quality health care for our community – and value for members.

Visionaries built this organization from humble beginnings, focused on health plan contracting and reducing administrative burden to a thriving multi faceted physician organization serving multiple communities in Calhoun, Hillsdale, and surrounding counties. It is through the fearless efforts of those willing to take risks that IHP has helped providers test new methods and drive true change in transforming how health care is delivered in the ever-changing health care landscape we experience today.

Milestones and Achievements

Throughout our three-decade journey, IHP has reached remarkable milestones:

• National Committee for Quality Assurance – Accredited for Utilization Management and Credentialing since 1999.
• Governor’s Award Recipient – IHP received the Governor’s award multiple times for community engagement in 2014, 2017, and 2024.
• 100% Primary Care Practices are Patient Centered Medical Home – Since 2019 – 100% of PCP practices earned the PCMH status, signaling our commitment for outstanding delivery of care for our patients.

These achievements are just a few examples of the many we have experienced, and a testament to our dedication and unwavering support of employees, partners, and stakeholders.
